About me (and Rewild Pilates)…
I will never judge - I will always think you’re awesome for showing up, and for prioritising time on your physical and mental wellbeing. We will work as a team and I will always listen to how things are feeling for you. We will celebrate your wins and always look at where we can improve things. I love to help people work towards their goals and aims, and can’t wait to hear about your motivation for doing Pilates and what you’d like to get out of it...
I started teaching ski-ing when I was 16 and have since had various roles in training and facilitation. So I think I’m pretty good at communicating :o) With a background in scientific research I love facts and will research anything you would like to know more about - physiology, anatomy, best-ever-stretches - I love to learn and share. My approach is gentle and calm, with an emphasis on fun. This is your time - you must enjoy it and feel at ease. I will explain why we’re doing things - the benefits and the reasons. I’ve also been in pain - I understand discomfort and the frustration of injury rehabilitation. I have contacts with local osteopaths, physiotherapists and massage therapists so can make suggestions and recommendations where needed. I’m passionate about a holistic approach to wellbeing, so always happy to chat about nutrition, breath work, ice baths and being in nature. And I’ve nearly always got a podcast to recommend ;o) I love what I do and I hope you do too! Julia X
Introducing…
Rewild Pilates
Rewild | verb | restore, rekindle, reconnect with nature.
Rewild Pilates | brand | moving as nature intended; unearthing a truer, wilder, more holistic approach to movement.
“Rewild” because I think we should reconnect to our “wilder” selves and move how nature intended. I like my Pilates to be focused on regaining the mobility that we were born to develop, and therefore the strength that we have the potential to build. I believe we should be more connected to nature and natural movement, and better able to relate to, and move with, our natural environment. Let’s remove the restrictions we have developed through unnatural practices like sitting for hours on end. Let’s move as nature intended - strong, agile, aligned and with ease…
